Steadicam Operator

My career as a specialty camera operator began with Steadicam. I was fascinated with the potential freedom Steadicam technology offered. In 2002 I participated in a Steadicam Operators Association Workshop lead by Steadicam Inventor, Garrett Brown. I knew from that point on I was going to be a Steadicam Operator. I immersed myself in the Steadicam culture, and trained hard. Even after years of experience and training, I continue my growth as a Steadicam Operator through new experiences, new approaches and new technology.

My Objective: Work hard, never stop learning, participate in friendly collaborations with other professionals in all facets of production, and be the best Steadicam Operator possible.

I've operated Steadicam in every format including Beta SP, digital video formats such as DVCAM, Digi Beta, DVCPro HD, HDCAM, HDV and DVCPro, and 16mm, Super 16, 35mm, and Super 35. I offer New York City Steadicam, Philadelphia Steadicam, and beyond. I've worked in every medium including Feature Films, Commercials, Television, Music Videos, Documentary, Short Films, & Corporate Videos.

Over the years, I’ve learned that Steadicam shots have their own rhythm and pace… they’re organic. And as I’ve trained to effectively blend art with science, and body with machine, Steadicam has become my passion.

In 2003, Garrett Brown invited me to expand my specialty camera repertoire by assisting him in the final development and deployment of SuperFlyCam, a lightweight 35mm Cable-Suspended Camera System. In 2005, my company, Top Hat Productions LLC, became the worldwide licensee of SuperFlyCam.

I've also had the honor, on several occasions, of being an Steadicam Instructor at Campus Workshops and Steadicam Operators Association Workshops.
